Do You Need An Acid Neutralizer Water System?
A low pH in New England water is typical. Acidic water at 6.5 or below can cause corrosive pipes, pinhole leaks in plumbing, and can present green staining around fixtures. If your water is acidic, you may notice it has a metallic taste.
Our acid neutralizers are calibrated to raise the pH of water based on the results of the water test. Calcium carbonate media dissolves inside the tank and raises the pH of the water as it passes through. It is, essentially, the opposite of a water softener system.
The acid neutralizer is a backwash water treatment system unit that cleans the filter media automatically. Over time, calcium carbonate is depleted and the system needs to be recharged.
