How Carbon Filters Remove Chloramine, Chlorine THM, and VOCs From Water?
Carbon filters are a versatile filtration media that removes chloramine, chlorine THM, and VOCs. In-and-out type carbon filters can also be used for low-level radon removal.
Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC)
Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) is made from an organic material like charcoal or coconut shells that is heated at high temperatures and infused with oxidizing gases. This make the material highly porous – able to attract and capture a wide variety of contaminates.
Customizable Carbon Filtration Systems
Our carbon filtration systems can be customized with either down-flow or regenerating back-washing system.
Replenishment and UV Light Filter
Over time, the filter media needs replenishing. If you have well water it is also a good idea to install a UV light filter, as organic matter trapped in the filter over time can cause a low level of bacteria growth.
Back-washing carbon filtration systems cannot be used for radon removal.
