Arsenic removal systems remove arsenic by absorbing it in iron-impregnated resin filter media.
It is an in-and-out water treatment system that requires no backwashing, but must be monitored to find to determine when the system is reached capacity. When there is an arsenic “breakthrough,” the media cannot absorb arsenic and should be replaced.
Arsenic removal systems can be a single tank or a dual-tank system. When one tank is full in a dual-tank system the second tank automatically kicks in. Having a second tank gives the homeowner peace-of-mind knowing that the system will continue to work even though one tank is full.
Arsenic removal systems should be maintained annually and the contaminated filter media disposed of properly. Our arsenic maintenance program provides scheduled maintenance of the system and includes a free water test for arsenic levels.
An alternative to treating arsenic with this point=of-entry system is to have a point-of-use reverse osmosis system at the kitchen sink for drinking water only.
